Humble Beginnings

Extreme Event Ireland is born, focusing on hiking tours. Founded by an IT professional with a passion for adventure, the company sets out to explore Ireland's natural beauty.

First Steps

The inaugural hiking tour takes place, marking the start of a grand adventure in Irish tourism. Enthusiasm and determination fuel the company's first summer season.

Wheels in Motion

Boswell, the company's first 9-seater bus, joins the fleet. This trusty vehicle becomes a symbol of growth and remains with the company, witnessing its evolution over the years.

Expanding Horizons

Two Mercedes Sprinters are added to the fleet. Daily tours commence, including the iconic Cliffs of Moher and Giants Causeway routes, broadening the company's reach across Ireland.

Urban Presence

The first coach, Spartacus, is purchased. A tourist office opens in College Green, establishing a physical presence in Dublin's bustling city center.

Growing Fleet, Growing Dreams

A new tourist office opens on O'Connell Street. The company invests in its first new bus, a 33-seater named Morpheus, signaling a commitment to quality and comfort.

The transition

We transitioned our commercial name from Extreme Ireland to Irish Day Tours to better align with the company’s new focus, moving away from custom hiking tours and toward daily day tours.

New itineraries coming

Four daily tours are now offered, including premium options to the Cliffs of Moher and Connemara. The company reaches a milestone of 10 buses in its fleet.

Diversifying Destinations

New itineraries to Blarney, Wicklow, and Celtic sites are introduced, making a total of seven daily tours. The fleet expands with Maximus, a tri-axle Scania coach, enhancing capacity for larger groups.

Home Base Established

"The Yard" becomes the company's depot, complete with in-house mechanics. This move towards self-sufficiency marks a new chapter in operational efficiency.

Team Growth

Team Growth The company's workforce expands to over 32 employees, reflecting its success and the increasing demand for its services across Ireland.

Fleet Milestone and Private Tours Launch

With 20 buses now in operation, the company solidifies its position in Irish tourism. A new private tours service is introduced, offering tailored experiences including accommodation and activities across Ireland for groups.

A New Identity

We update our branding into a more modern and adapt it to a new digital era

Resilience and Renewal

Facing the challenges of Covid-19, the company uses this period to restructure, creating specialised departments and enhancing operational efficiency.

Recovery and Optimism

The first full year post-Covid sees a return to normality, with positive indicators for the future of Irish tourism and the company's role in it.

Back in Full Swing

Operations return to pre-pandemic levels, with a renewed appreciation for Ireland's beauty and the joy of travel.
