Overview

On this unique Wicklow tour you will get to experience all the aspects of Wicklow known as the garden of Ireland. Start the day with a drive past the Blessington lakes for your first stop at Baltinglass Abbey dating back to the 1100’s. Take a chance to see how the locals live and farm the area with a visit to a working farm. Be amazed by the working partnership between Ed and his dogs with a fantastic sheepdog demonstration. Have lunch in the Glenmalure lodge and savour the beautiful scenery of the Glenmalure valley, Our Final visit is to the highlight of the tour Glendalough where you will have ample time to explore the famous monastic site and take a scenic walk.

Itinerary

8.30am - Departing from Dublin
10,00 am - Baltinglass Abbey
10.45 am - Sheepdog demonstration
We drive up the road to a working farm in the heartland of the arable side of Wicklow. Meet the friendly local farmer Ed who will delight in introducing you to rural life on the farm.He will show you the different breeds of bulls and introduce you to his herd of Cows and their calves before giving a sheepdog demonstration corralling  the sheep with little more than a few commands or whistles. This is a truly unique experience and gives you a great insight to life in rural Ireland. 
1.00 pm - Glenmalure
We travel on to the Glenmalure valley and go to the Lodge for lunch. ( Lunch not included ). This is the perfect setting for lunch and the food is very good.
2.15pm- Glendalough
Arriving at Glendalough in the afternoon has distinct advantages as most tours come here in the morning. You have an hour and a half to explore this interesting Abbey and the surrounding lakes.The Monastery itself was founded in the 6th century by St Kevin but most of the buildings date from between the 11th and 12th century. Glendalough monastery  has many buildings the tower and St kevins Kitchen are the most complete all the rest are in disrepair to differing extents. The setting amongst the mountains and the lakes is what sets this monastery apart from every other. Take a stroll and enjoy this magical place, You will be transported to a tranquil peaceful place
5.30pm- Arrive In Dublin
Your experience of Wicklow comes to an end but we hope you have lasting memmories of the Garden of Ireland.
